Prof. Ruth Ben-Arie

Prof. Ruth Ben Arie is a well known Israeli specialist in post-harvesting. She had a long research career within the Volcani Insitute of the Agriculture Research Organization, culminating in her positions as Head of the Department of Postharvest Science and Head of Institute for Technology & Storage of Agricultural Products. Since 1998 she is Scientific Director of the Fruit Storage Research Laboratory of the Israel Fruit Growers' Association.

Ruth holds an M.Sc. in Horticulture and Plant Pathology and a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology, both from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Prof. David J. Schuster

David J. Schuster is Professor Emeritus of the University of Florida’s Gulf Coast Research & Education Center. He is internationally recognized for the development and application of sustainable, integrated management programs of vegetable insect pests, including the sweetpotato whitefly. He has 35 years of experience overall and 27 years in managing the sweetpotato whitefly and the viruses it vectors on vegetable crops.

He obtained his MS degree in Entomology at Kansas State University and his Ph.D. degree in Entomology at Oklahoma State University.
